Cardiff, meet Dosbarth. 💙

A new choice for Learning Support Assistants across Cardiff.

Dosbarth is an independent agency from West Wales — and now, we’re expanding into Cardiff.

We may be new to Cardiff, but we’re not new to education. With 10 years in business and over 80 years of education experience between our team, we understand how important good classroom support is to pupils, teachers and schools — because education has always been at the heart of Dosbarth.

Who can join our team?

We’d love to hear from Learning Support Assistants and people interested in working in classroom support.

You might already have experience working in a school, have a background in childcare, education or ALN, be a student or graduate looking to gain experience, or simply be considering a new career working with children and young people.

You don’t necessarily need previous classroom experience for every role. We’re interested in finding people with the right attitude, reliability and enthusiasm to support pupils and become a valuable part of the school day.

Whether you’re looking for regular full-time work, a few days a week or occasional work around other commitments, tell us what works for you and we’ll look for work that suits you.

What you can expect from Dosbarth

  • PAYE payroll, with no hidden fees from a payroll company
  • A team established and managed by teachers and education specialists
  • The choice to communicate and work with us through the medium of Welsh
  • Support and guidance from our team, 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Access to work through an agency on the Welsh Government framework for the provision of agency workers
  • Opportunities to gain valuable classroom experience and build relationships with schools
  • Access to bilingual, accredited CPD courses, including safeguarding training
  • A range of opportunities in mainstream and ALN settings
  • A choice of work to suit your availability, from day-to-day supply to longer-term roles

What we’re looking for

To work as a Learning Support Assistant through Dosbarth, we’re looking for people who are:

  • Friendly, reliable and enthusiastic about supporting children and young people
  • Patient, approachable and able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Flexible and willing to support the needs of the classroom
  • Able to work well alongside teachers and other school staff
  • Good communicators with a professional approach
  • Willing to complete the relevant safeguarding and compliance requirements
  • Able to provide the required professional references
  • In possession of a current DBS registered with the Update Service, or willing to complete a new DBS check

Experience of working with children, young people or individuals with additional learning needs (ALN) can be beneficial, but we also welcome applications from people looking to take their first steps into education.

Dosbarth is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All workers complete the relevant safeguarding and compliance checks, and we provide safeguarding training as part of our recruitment process.
