Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd (CCDG) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Welsh Government. We provide an essential, all-age, independent, impartial and bilingual careers guidance and coaching services in Wales, including the Working Wales programme.

Translator – Welsh Language – Maternity Cover up to 12 months

Salary: £30,993 – £37,330, the starting salary is £30,993

Hours: Full time (37hours per week)

Base:  As we have numerous centres throughout Wales, the successful candidate’s base will be determined on appointment.

Proficient Welsh language skills are essential for this post.

Working within the Digital and Communications service area of Careers Wales, the successful candidate will own and deliver a translation service that ensures the content in our website products meet the needs of users.  The successful candidate will oversee high volume machine translated content and providing a quality assurance role to retain the meaning of the original text as closely as possible.  The role also involves working on the website services where large quantities of data need regular updating and publishing within agreed timeframes.

This role will contribute to ensuring that Careers Wales complies with the Welsh Language Standards, helping to ensure that high-quality bilingual services are consistently available to our customers.

The successful candidate must have:

• A degree level qualification
• Proven experience of translation from English to Welsh and Welsh to English
• A proficient level of skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing in Welsh
