Severn Wye is looking for a talented individual to empower people and communities living in rural areas to act on climate change, delivering our National Lottery-funded Energised Communities programme across Llangollen and Ceiriog Valley. You’ll engage local stakeholders, champion co-design approaches, and help communities build the skills and confidence to take control of their energy futures.

Working hoursFull time – 37 hours per week. 
 Flexible working hours or 0.8 FTE (4 days) considered. This role is open to secondment opportunities.
Salary£31,977 – £34,360 per annum. 
Reporting toEnergised Communities Manager 
LocationHome-based, within commutable distance of project areas  Llangollen & Ceiriog

The role will include

  • Delivering the Energised Communities programme, engaging diverse local stakeholders including councils, community groups, schools and Health Boards
  • Facilitating inclusive community engagement and mapping exercises to identify local climate action opportunities
  • Modelling co-design and co-delivery approaches, including traditionally uninvolved groups
  • Supporting community-led climate initiatives through event leadership, resource leveraging and ongoing guidance
  • Reporting progress and working in partnership with The National Lottery Community Fund, including Welsh language requirements

We are looking for someone with

  • Education to degree level or equivalent experience, with excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Experience partnering with diverse stakeholders and communicating proposals persuasively and creatively
  • Project coordination skills and the ability to manage their own workload with minimum supervision
  • Ability to travel to rural community meetings and events, including some evenings and weekends
